Drei gnadenlose Schweizer Metal Bands sorgen für einen höllisch heissen Karfreitag im Z7! Diese Co-Headline Show wird von den Groove-Thrashern und Z7-Dauerbrennern GurD sowie den „Newcomern“ Magma Ocean (Ex-Molotov Train) angeführt. Als Special Guest gibt es eine gehörige Portion Old School Death Metal von Requiem.
Unsere „Hausband“ GurD hat mittlerweile 30 Jahre auf dem Buckel! 1994 aus der Asche der Power-Thrasher Poltergeist emporgestiegen, hat sich die Band zu einer Mischung aus Thrash und Groove entwickelt. Im Herbst 2022 brachte das Basler Urgestein um Sänger/Gitarrist V.O. Pulver nach acht Jahren wieder ein neues Album heraus. Der Metal-Hammer schrieb: „Mit ‚Hallucinations’ kehren GurD gekonnt zu ihren Wurzeln zurück.“ Wir freuen uns auf die Rückkehr von V.O., Pat, Franky und Steve mit einem fetten Greatest-Hits-Programm und aktuellen Tracks vom Album „Hallucinations“.
„Vor 4,5 Milliarden Jahren war die Erde bedeckt von einem Meer aus Lava. Ein einziger glühender Feuerball. Genauso ist die Musik von Magma Ocean – glühend heiss, explosiv und alles verzehrend.“ Vier der fünf Musiker rasten bis vor kurzem als Molotov Train durch die Schweizer Metal-Landschaft. Ende April verkündete die Band auf ihren Social-Media-Plattformen, dass sie sich vom alten Namen verabschiedet und mit einem neuen Sänger als Magma Ocean weitermachen wird. Die Band mit Szenegrössen von Bands wie Shakra, Stallion, Maxxwell oder Battalion hat mit der englischen Power-Röhre Harry Ballantyne einen neuen Frontmann gewonnen. Die neuen Songs „Solitude“ und „Price Of Failure“ geben einen ersten, vielversprechenden Vorgeschmack auf die infernalischen Klänge dieses Kraftpakets.

Three merciless Swiss metal bands will ensure a devilishly hot Good Friday at Z7! This co-headline show will be led by the groove-thrashers and Z7 regulars GurD, as well as the "newcomers" Magma Ocean (formerly Molotov Train). As a special guest, there will be a hefty dose of old school death metal from Requiem.
Our "house band" GurD has been around for 30 years! Rising from the ashes of power-thrashers Poltergeist in 1994, the band has evolved into a mix of thrash and groove. In the autumn of 2022, the Basel stalwart led by singer/guitarist V.O. Pulver released a new album after eight years. Metal Hammer wrote: "With 'Hallucinations,' GurD skillfully returns to their roots." We look forward to the return of V.O., Pat, Franky, and Steve with a fat greatest hits program and current tracks from the album "Hallucinations."
"4.5 billion years ago, the Earth was covered by a sea of lava. A single glowing fireball. This is exactly how the music of Magma Ocean is - glowing hot, explosive, and all-consuming." Four out of the five musicians were recently raging through the Swiss metal scene as Molotov Train. At the end of April, the band announced on their social media platforms that they were moving on from the old name and continuing as Magma Ocean with a new singer. The band, with scene veterans from bands like Shakra, Stallion, Maxxwell, or Battalion, has gained a new frontman with the English powerhouse Harry Ballantyne. The new songs "Solitude" and "Price Of Failure" provide a first, promising taste of the infernal sounds of this powerhouse.
