The highlight in the quaint Swabian town is the annual performance of the cultural association. This year, due to its great success, Goethe's play "Faust I" is to be performed again. However, the lead role must be recast in a public audition. The board of the association has warmly invited the local population to participate. The well-known local actress of Mephista, Linda Bergmann, is also present to lend support. The casting goes surprisingly well until a sudden death throws the cheerful evening into chaos. Are criminal machinations behind it? Who can still trust whom now?

The seemingly flawless collaboration of the cultural association and the small Swabian community begins to show cracks and threatens to fall apart. Marlene Dieterle, not only head of the cultural association but also a commissioner and head of the homicide department, takes over the investigations.

Ultimately, all threads come together:

Udo Dirkschneider is celebrating a triple anniversary in 2027! 75 – 40 – 20 is the magic formula: The German metal legend turns 75, his formation U.D.O. has been around for 40 years, and in the anniversary year, he will release album number 20. With the “Three Times Anniversary Tour,” U.D.O. will come to Pratteln in January to celebrate a big party with the Swiss fans.

Actually, Udo Dirkschneider was supposed to follow in his father’s footsteps and take over the family tool factory in Wuppertal. But as his musical commitment grew stronger, he had to make a decision at a young age: “Take over the company, or step into madness – so I stepped into madness.” Luckily for all metal fans. With his bands Accept, U.D.O., or Dirkschneider, the singer has written music history over the last five decades and has become the epitome of the Teutonic metal frontman. Since the 80s, his distinctive voice has shaped countless metal classics. Udo is a true icon of the genre, continually redefining its history. This is also true in 2027. MELANCHOLY & STRENGTH

Nordic melancholy meets progressive soundscapes and healthy strength: the cult band Amorphis comes to Pratteln with their unique blend of melodic death metal, folk, epic melodies, powerful metal anthems, and atmospheric sounds. On the “Borderland Tour 2027”, the Finns will present their current album. The supporting acts are Insomnium and Unto Others.

Since the 90s, Amorphis has been one of the most influential bands in their genre. With albums like “Tales From The Thousand Lakes” and “Queen of Time,” they have continuously developed their unmistakable sound, combining powerful riffs with profound lyrics often inspired by Finnish mythology. Fans of demanding, modern metal sounds will be well catered for here. On the ongoing tour, Amorphis presents their latest album “Borderline,” which was created in their first collaboration with Danish producer Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Amaranthe, Epica, Evergrey, among others). Esa Holopainen states: “Amorphis has an unmistakable sound and a unique approach to making music. Six strong personalities in the band certainly bring their own challenges to the production process – especially for the producer. Jacob was chosen for several important reasons: He has already worked with an impressively diverse array of artists and is an incredibly calm, creative, and resourceful producer.” The result sounds fantastic. Band leader Esa Holopainen seems to have an endless supply of brilliant melodies. Metal1.info writes: “The first association with ‘Borderland’ is joy of playing: when you hear these songs for the first time, you can directly envision the euphoria on the faces of the musicians as they work on these songs, playing the riffs, solos, choruses, bridges, and more. The fact that Amorphis dares to try one or two experiments greatly enriches ‘Borderland,’ but what’s more crucial is that the Finns have rethought established elements: Amorphis sounds unmistakably like themselves on ‘Borderland’ – yet also at times more melodic, at times heavier, and above all more compelling than ever before.” The Metal Hammer critic gives the top rating and concludes his review as follows: “This band sounds more Finnish than the Finnish national anthem and will surely be declared a national cultural asset soon.”

DELAIN DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE

DELAIN will open a new chapter in 2027 and present an extraordinary concert format on stage. Together with Marko Hietala and other guests, a unique live experience will be created that connects the past and future of the band. Fans can look forward to a special evening beyond a classic tour show.

For over two decades, DELAIN has established itself as a major force in modern melodic metal. Since the debut album "Lucidity," the band has represented a distinctive blend of catchy melodies, orchestral arrangements, and powerful guitars. Albums like "April Rain," "We Are the Others," and "The Human Contradiction" have shaped this journey, while "Dark Waters" (2023) marked the band's biggest success yet with top-10 placements in Germany and the US Hard Music Charts. Behind the band is mastermind Martijn Westerholt, who founded DELAIN after leaving Within Temptation and has been continuously developing it since.

In February 2027, DELAIN will embark on a special concept tour: instead of a classic show, the audience can expect a specially curated live format with changing high-profile guests and musical surprises. At the center of this is also the renewed collaboration with Marko Hietala, whose shared past has produced some of the most significant moments in the band's history. Other contributors will be announced at a later date. Simultaneously, the band is working on new material set to be released before the tour, marking the beginning of this new phase. With only a few selected dates, this tour promises an intense and unique concert experience that goes far beyond a typical live evening.

CULTIVATED BRUTALITY

For 20 years, Whitechapel from Knoxville have represented cultivated deathcore and death metal. With their ninth album "Hymns Of Dissonance", the Americans have returned in 2025 to the uncompromisingly brutal sound of their early days. In 2027, they will come to Europe with the "Burn Forever Tour" to knock out fans with their blastbeat anthems. Supporting acts: Sylosis, 200 Stab Wounds, and Tribal Gaze.

"Hymns In Dissonance" – the title of the current Whitechapel album is programmatic. "There is nothing beautiful about HID, from the riffs to the lyrics to the overall melody of the album. We tried to write our hardest album yet. We wanted to release something that is shockingly menacing and brutal," says guitarist Alex Wade about the band's latest work. "The album follows the story of a cultist who gathers people to join his cult. There are moments in this story where the cult followers sing an anthem to open a portal through which the main cultist can enter." The dynamic, brutal musicality of the band provides the perfect soundtrack to the captivating story that singer Phil Bozeman vividly imagines: "'Hymns in Dissonance' is a mockery of the true nature of hymns," he says. "Hymns are melodic and harmonious. Dissonance is the exact opposite of melody and harmony. It represents evil. And the tracks on the album represent the seven deadly sins." A critic from Metal Hammer magazine writes about the band's latest output: "We have only just gotten used to the fact that Whitechapel musically opened a new, quieter chapter in their band career with 'The Valley', which continued on the 2021 work 'Kin'. Those who expected a continuation of that will be not only surprised but also overwhelmed by 'Hymns Of Dissonance'!" He summarizes the relentless death storm as follows: "For over ten tracks, it rages on in every shade of red rage. Prof. William Chattney is dead. He was a renowned scientist. However, before the will can be read, the life of the deceased must be reconstructed with the help of the guests. Not really a problem, except for Detective Johnson. He is investigating, as Chattney's death involves a violent crime.

Who killed Chattney and how? What was he researching? And what secret did he take to his grave? The notary Mr. Green and his loyal assistant Manfred have their hands full: They check the surveillance cameras of the property, read with the help of Herbert Wandschneider from the future, and Dr. Sten-Gelle combines cosmic energy with science just to solve the riddle. In the end, it is still Extrem Norbert, supported by the audience, who initiates the twist.

The actors repeatedly engage the audience spontaneously through their long-standing experience as improvisation artists in the crime story. Culinary delights and entertainment, unpredictable developments, and surprising twists alternate.

The two performers make use of a variety of means of expression, play multiple characters, and have a keen sense of the audience. Their playing joy is hardly containable and delights the audience. “The tingling uncertainty and the moment of surprise – both in the audience and on stage – that’s what makes it exciting.”
